Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!
“When God Knocks, Don’t Forget to Open the Door”
Have you ever prayed so hard for something… and then been completely shocked when it actually happened?
That’s exactly what happened in Acts 12. The church prayed for Peter to be freed from prison. God answered. Peter showed up at the front door—literally. And the prayer group inside was so surprised that when Rhoda heard his voice, she got so excited she forgot to open the door!
It’s a comical scene, but it’s also a mirror. How often do we pray with passion, but expect little? How often do we ask for miracles but brace for disappointment?
Maybe faith looks like this: praying boldly, expecting fully, and opening the door quickly.
Because sometimes the answer to your prayer is standing right outside, still knocking.
PS: On another note:
Speaking of answered prayers… Thank you for your prayers for my daughter Faith over the last couple of weeks. Faith is back in school full time and ready to finish up in December before student teaching in Las Vegas in January.
Thank you MVPC for your prayers and your patience as I have been away for a few weeks tending to Faith.
Now, I get to say one of my favorite phrases with great enthusiasm..
“SEE YOU SUNDAY!”
Grace and Peace,
Laugh Often and Fear not!
David!
