Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!

Remember 2020?

I try to forget that year, but it really is impossible to forget the year where just about everything was “quarantined.”  It was a year or more marked by the word: “can’t."

We “can’t" do this and we “can't" do that.

I have met people in my life who live by those same words even though it is no longer 2020. In fact, they were living like that long before the year 2020 arrived and they continue to live by that mantra long since 2020 has been in our review mirror.

What is amazing about the word “can’t” is that if you believe you “can’t” then more than likely, you “can’t.”

On the flip side, those who believe they “can” are usually right.

The apostle Paul was a big believer in the word “can.”

I am pretty sure he even mentioned that word in a letter to the church in Philippi.

“I ‘can’ do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4: 13

His life, ministry, missionary journeys and especially through Acts 21-28 we see Paul living a life of “can."

Paul gets arrested. Riots. Trials. Storms. Snakebites. People around him are shouting, “We can’t make it. We can’t keep going."

But, Paul keeps sailing, keeps moving, keeps keeping on, keeps preaching, because through Christ, he “can.”

This week, we close our UNSTOPPABLE series with Acts 21–28—where the gospel outruns every chain and Rome becomes Paul’s pulpit.

Join us Sunday as we celebrate a gospel that “can’t" be quarantined for a time of worship that “can” and will glorify God for being a God of “can.”

See you Sunday!
