Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!

Take a Number

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope and pray you are enjoying your spiral cut honey baked ham!!

Today is a day of giving thanks - gratitude for all the blessings of God, tangible and intangible, past and present, for today, tomorrow and yesterday, for the here and now and for eternity! Praise God from whom all blessings flow. May your day be extra blessed!

This Sunday we step into Advent—the season where the Church sits in the waiting room of God with a ticket in hand.

Isaiah 40 begins with the words, “Comfort, comfort my people.” That’s not background music. That’s a divine announcement: God meets us first in the waiting, not after it’s over.

Waiting feels slow, inconvenient, and uncertain. In a doctor’s office, waiting means we’re powerless. But in God’s waiting room, waiting is a sacred appointment where God prepares our hearts for what He is preparing for us.

This week, let’s reflect together:
Where do we feel delayed?
Where do we feel stuck in line?
Where do we feel like our prayers are in “pending” mode?

Isaiah reminds us that before God moves, He speaks comfort. Before God reveals the way, He prepares it. Before God calls our name, He holds us like a shepherd carrying lambs close to His heart.

Waiting is not wasting when God is the One we’re waiting for.

Grace and peace,
Laugh Often and Fear not!
David!
