Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!
“Grace Upon Grace”
This Sunday is one of my favorite Sundays of the year—Stewardship Pledge Sunday! It’s that special day when we come together as a congregation, not just to fill out pledge cards, but to celebrate the generosity of God’s people and the grace that keeps pouring out—grace upon grace (John 1:16).
Stewardship isn’t about fundraising—it’s about faith-raising. It’s our joyful response to the One who has given us everything. Every gift, every talent, every breath is a reminder that we are caretakers, not owners, of God’s blessings.
On Sunday, as we present our 2026 pledges during worship, we’re not merely helping the church create a budget. We’re declaring something far deeper: “Lord, everything we have comes from You. May what we give be used for Your glory.”
Paul puts it this way in 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Cheerful giving is contagious—it’s what keeps the ministries of MVPC thriving, our mission outreach expanding, and our hearts aligned with God’s heart.
So, let’s come Sunday ready to give, to worship, and to celebrate the overflowing grace of our generous God. Because stewardship isn’t about what God wants from us—it’s about what God wants for us.
Grace upon grace.
See you Sunday!
Grace and Peace,
Laugh Often and Fear not!
David!
