“Now Serving Mary!”

 

This week in Advent, we meet Mary — a young girl whose number gets called long before she expected it. The angel’s greeting isn’t, “Are you ready?” but “You are favored.” God begins with grace, not performance.

Mary models the posture of a heart that is ready to say yes before knowing all the details. She doesn’t understand the how, but she trusts the Who. Her simple yet courageous response — “Let it be to me according to your word” — becomes the hinge on which salvation swings open.

In our own waiting rooms, God is shaping us for the moment He calls our name. The invitation may disrupt our plans, stretch our comfort, or lead us into uncharted territory. But God provides what He commands. His call is always accompanied by His presence.

This week, let us ask:
Where is God calling us to say yes?
What new thing is He inviting into our lives?
What fear stands between us and obedience?
