Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!

“The Future is Taking Shape

This past Sunday night at our Playground and Plaza Information Meeting… something happened.

The room was full.
The energy was real.

And the vision? It came alive.

As we shared the artist’s rendering of what our Playground and Plaza could become (rendering attached), you could feel it—excitement, hope, even a little holy anticipation.

Questions were thoughtful.

Conversations were rich.

And perhaps most importantly… there was a shared sense that this is our next step as a church family.

Not someday.
Now.

What stood out most wasn’t just the plan—it was the spirit in the room.

A readiness.

A willingness.

A joy-filled expectation that God is inviting us to build something that will bless generations to come including our own.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…”
Not as a suggestion—but as a calling.

And we are stepping into that calling together.

Now… Let’s Have Some Fun With It

Mark your calendars: Comedy for a Cause

May 29 | 5:30–7:30 PM | MVPC

This is where vision meets action—and laughter!

We’ll kick off the evening with a Silent Auction, followed by a high-energy Live Auction featuring some incredible items—travel experiences, unique getaways, and local opportunities you won’t want to miss.

And yes… we’re bringing in a pro.

Jay Fiske, a seasoned auctioneer from Seattle, will be leading the charge—bringing skill, energy, and just the right amount of humor to make the night unforgettable.

Furthermore, our own organist Richard Wilson will be performing some of his amazing Magic Show which has been performed on the Las Vegas Strip! Thank you Richard!!

This isn’t just about raising funds.
It’s about starting something.
Seed money. Momentum. Movement.

How You Can Be Part of It (Right Now)

Do you own a business?
Provide a service?
Have access to tickets, experiences, or unique items?

We would love your help in making this auction extraordinary.

Please submit auction items by May 15.

Your contribution could become part of a moment that helps shape the future of MVPC.

One More Thing… (And It Matters Most)

Before we build anything… we pray.

Would you begin asking:

“Lord, what do You want to do through me to fulfill Your will
for MVPC?”

Not what others will do.
Not what seems reasonable.
But what God might uniquely place on your heart.

Because this isn’t just a project.

It’s a response.
A calling.
A step of faith.

MVPC, the future is not just coming…

It’s calling.

And from what we saw on Sunday night—
it looks glorious.

Grace and peace,
Laugh Often and Fear Not!
David
