Thursday’s Thoughts from Pastor David!
Dear MVPC Family,
There are moments in the life of every church that become defining moments.
Moments when a congregation prayerfully asks:
“What kind of church are we becoming?”
“What legacy will we leave?”
“How will we bless the generations still to come?”
I believe we are standing in one of those moments right now.
Attached to this email you will find the proposed site plan for the future Playground and Plaza at Mountain View Presbyterian Church.
Please notice one important word:
Proposed.
This is not a final blueprint carved into stone tablets from Mount Sinai!
It is a vision.
A dream.
A direction.
A prayerful picture of what could become a vibrant gathering place for children, families, grandparents, students, neighbors, and future generations at MVPC.
(And yes… shade sails will also cover much of the area even though they are not reflected on the current rendering!)
As I have reflected on this exciting season, I keep returning to God’s words to Abraham in Genesis 12:
“I will bless you… and you will be a blessing.”
That has always been God’s plan.
We are blessed…
to become a blessing.
Long before many of us arrived at MVPC, faithful people sacrificed, gave, prayed, and built this beautiful church home for us. They invested in future generations they would never fully meet.
Now it is our turn.
Not simply to preserve the past…
but to build for the future.
A future where children laugh on this campus.
Where grandparents watch grandchildren play after worship.
Where families linger in conversation.
Where community is formed.
Where young people discover faith, friendship, hope, and belonging.
This is about much more than playground equipment.
It is about creating sacred spaces where relationships deepen and lives are transformed.
Over these next couple of weeks, I invite all of us to pray one simple prayer:
“Lord, what do You want to do through me to fulfill Your will for MVPC?”
That prayer matters.
On Commitment Sunday, June 7th, we will invite our church family to make a one-year commitment to the “Let the Little Children Come Unto Me” Campaign as we seek to position MVPC for a future so bright it may outshine the sun.
Friends, the future generations are worth it.
Let us move forward together with faith, joy, courage, and expectation.
Grace and peace,
Laugh often and Fear not!
David
