Thursday’s Thoughts – “Dinner with Sinners”

In Luke 5:27–32, Jesus calls Matthew (a tax collector, mind you!) to follow him. Matthew doesn’t give a sermon. He doesn’t launch a Bible study. He throws a dinner party.

And who’s on the guest list? A house full of “tax collectors and others” (read: the town’s spiritual riffraff). The religious elite were scandalized.

Jesus? Not so much.

He replied, *“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Translation: Jesus came to heal the hurting, not to hobnob with the holy.

This Sunday, we’re pulling up a chair to explore how Jesus ate and drank his way through ministry—starting with Matthew’s meal of mercy. Come hungry.

I missed you last Sunday!
See you this Sunday!

Grace and peace,
Laugh often and Fear not!
